ROMANS LAID

FOUNDATIONS

IN BANKSIDE

The Romans kicked things off.
Now businesses like yours can kick on.

What did the Romans ever do for Bankside? They laid the foundations for centuries of trade. Mosaics and artefacts discovered while excavating the site for The Liberty proved that people have been living and working in Bankside since at least 2AD. Now it’s your turn to write the next chapter in this neighbourhood’s rich commercial history.

Right by Borough Market and London Bridge Station are the remains, including walls, entrance steps and interior flooring of a building that may have been in operation around 2,000 years ago.
